Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the seaports Odesa and Klaipėda (Republic of Lithuania)
On April 2, a delegation from Klaipėda Seaport Authority, headed by CEO Algis Latakas, visited the Odesa branch of the State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” (SE “USPA”).
The delegation was welcomed by Dmytro Nazarenko, Acting Head of the Odesa Branch of the (SE “USPA”). The meeting was also attended by representatives of the management of the SE “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority”.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the functioning of the Ukrainian corridor, the development of port infrastructure, and prospects for capacity modernization, particularly under martial law conditions.
Following the negotiations, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the ports of Odesa and Klaipėda, aimed at strengthening partnership and facilitating the exchange of experience.
“Support from international partners is crucially important today for the stable operation of the port industry. The signing of the Memorandum with Klaipėda Seaport has already delivered practical results: we have received the necessary technical assistance from our Lithuanian colleagues to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the port,” , commented Dmytro Nazarenko.
The Odesa Sea Port Authority expressed gratitude to their European partners for their timely support and effective cooperation.
Note: The agreement to sign the Memorandum was reached in October 2025 during the Baltexpo 2025 exhibition (Republic of Poland).
