The annual ceremony for awarding the Challenge Cup to the best firefighting crew of the port was held at the Odesa Branch of the SE “USPA”. Established in 2016, this tradition has become a symbol of professionalism, team spirit, and dedication to duty.

The Challenge Cup is awarded based on the results of the training year, which runs from September 1 to May 30. Throughout this period, the fire crews of the Departmental Fire Protection Unit undergo intensive training, studying theory, honing practical skills, and improving their ability to respond effectively to fires and emergency situations.

Prompt response, speed, coordinated teamwork, excellent physical fitness, and the ability to quickly assess a situation and make the right decision are qualities that define a true rescuer.

In recent years, the work of Odesa Sea Ports Authority firefighters has gained particular significance. Since 2022, amid the increasing number of missile and drone attacks targeting port infrastructure, they have often been among the first to arrive at sites where danger has not yet passed. Their professionalism and courage in responding to the aftermath of air strikes on port facilities have repeatedly been recognized by the management of the State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” and government agencies.

Based on this year's results, the 3rd crew of Fire Station No. 1 was named the best. The crew is headed by Station Officer Serhii Kalinnikov. The award was presented by Vladyslav Lytvyn, Deputy Head of the Odesa Sea Ports Authority and Ihor Kizlak, Head of the Fire Safety Service. In addition to the Challenge Cup, the team received a commemorative gift—mugs featuring a photograph of the entire crew.
