Operational meeting with the City Council
Due to the need for major repairs of the overpass leading to the Odesa Sea Port, the Odesa Branch of SE « Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority» has appealed to the City Council to approve a temporary traffic scheme for heavy-duty vehicles on the city streets.
The repair of the overpass, built in 2000, is inevitable, as the structure requires renovation. Starting from July 28th, traffic on the overpass will be completely closed during the first phase of work - approximately until November 15th.
During the meeting with the Acting head of the Odesa Branch of SE «USPA», Dmytro Nazarenko, the following topics were discussed: entry and exit routes to and from the port via city streets, the need for dispatching, control over the use of storage areas by stevedores, and the preparation of the city’s road infrastructure for additional traffic load.
Of particular importance is coordinating the repairs with the completion of the reconstruction of V. Blazhko Descent (formerly Marinesko Descent), which will allow Primorska Street to be freed up for public transport traffic.
Our primary goal is to minimize inconvenience for the residents of Odesa and maintain stability in city traffic. In dialogue with the port, we are working proactively.
